Dr. Jay Patel

– Dr. Patel’s two biggest passions are science and helping people, so dentistry was a great fit from the start! He obtained his dental degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (where he graduated with distinctions in both dental education and research with the highest honors). Since then, he has earned his Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science in Oral Biology. Plus, he is board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics!

In Dr. Patel’s time off, he enjoys playing sports and cheering on the Rangers, Mavs, and Cowboys. He also likes traveling to explore new places and cultures!

Dr. Minnie Koo

Originating from Las Vegas, NV, Dr. Koo is passionate about providing customized, accurate, and long-lasting dental treatments for her patients. The best thing about her job is that she has the opportunity to greatly impact a person’s life in a meaningful way every day. Until you’ve arrived at our practice to receive the dental care you deserve, read on to learn a little bit about your trusted and caring dentist.

Dr. Koo had an interest in helping others as well as working and creating something with her hands ever since she could remember. It was only during her years in college that she discovered the kind of services dentistry would allow her to perform. As a dentist, she constantly learns as much as possible so that she can provide the highest quality of care for her patients. Dr. Koo was attending the University of Wisconsin–Madison when she decided to work on becoming a dentist. After graduating from there, she went on to study at Temple University to earn her dental doctorate. Over the years, she’s undergone countless hours of continuing education to refine her skills and expertise. She’s also attended a live hands-on implant course for extensive training, and she’s even Invisalign certified

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Koo spends much of her time with her spouse and their family and loved ones. Her hobbies typically involve visiting new restaurants, checking out new local coffee shops, practicing yoga and Pilates, and traveling to new places. One fun fact about her: she was raised on two different continents!

Dr. Matthew Arnold

Ever since he can remember, Dr. Arnold has always had a passion for helping people. He was also greatly interested in the sciences at an early age and sought to combine both for a future career. After researching, he found that dentistry was the perfect fit for him, as it would allow him to create the positive change he always dreamt of. Today, he gets the chance to help others each and every day, one smile at a time.

To begin his journey into dentistry, Dr. Arnold first attended Florida State University for his bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology. Afterward, he went on to study at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine to receive his dental doctorate. He’s undergone countless hours of continuing education every year to remain up-to-date with the latest advancements in dentistry

Originally from Miami, FL, Dr. Arnold moved to Dallas to practice dentistry. Whenever he isn’t at the office maintaining and improving patients’ smiles, he spends much of his time with his lovely wife. Together they enjoy hobbies like trying out new restaurants, going outdoors, and traveling. One interesting thing about Dr. Arnold: he grew up playing ice hockey!

Frequently Asked Questions – Answered!

Whether you are searching for a new dentist in Richardson to get back on track with cleanings and checkups, or you’re looking to get some restorative work done, we’re here to help! Here are the answers to some of the most common questions we receive. If you don’t see the information that you’re looking for below, don’t hesitate to give us a call . We’d be more than happy to address any of your questions or concerns.

How do I find the best place to get dental work done?

The best way to get started is to consider the things that are important to you. Generally, this is a combination of welcoming your insurance, location, and hours. It’s also important to consider which services you are interested in. Are you interested in routine preventive care or are you also wanting extensive restorative treatments of cosmetic dental care? Finally, you should get a feel for the practice. A good way to do this is to read patient reviews and staff bios on their website.

How much does a dental check-up & cleaning cost near Richardson?

The cost of a cleaning and checkup can vary depending on geography and other factors. A checkup and cleaning should begin with a patient health history and a discussion of any concerns. It should also include a thorough exam completed by the dentist, a professional cleaning, X-rays, and an oral cancer screening. The average in markets across the United States is between $200 and $350. If a patient has insurance, preventive treatments are likely covered.

How can I make a same-day appointment with a dentist?

We offer same-day treatment for patients who are suffering from dental emergencies . The best way to schedule an appointment is to give us a call . This way, you can explain your situation so we can give you further instructions. The goal of your same-day appointment is to assess the situation, eliminate pain, and finalize a treatment plan just for you. Sometimes, more advanced treatment can be completed during your same-day appointment.

What level of education is required to be a dentist?

All dentists in the United States need to have received a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) degree from one of the 67 Accredited dental schools in the US. Dental school is 3 years with a combination of classroom and hands-on learning experience. All dentists are also required to complete a certain number of continuing education hours to keep their license to practice.
