Gentle Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Taun Nguyen

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Nguyen always knew that he wanted to do something in healthcare. As a result, he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Texas Wesleyan University before completing his master’s in business administration. Although he worked at Microsoft for some time, he eventually found his way back to the sciences and pursued dentistry. For him, being a dentist combines everything he loves, from the opportunity to work closely with his patients to working with his hands every day.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Before attending dental school, Dr. Nguyen studied at Texas Wesleyan University. After earning his master’s, he decided to complete dental school at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. With a love of knowledge, he continues to hone his craft by pursuing continuing education regularly. Currently, he is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association and the Texas Dental Association.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Nguyen is the youngest of four and loves spending time with his nieces and nephews. He is also engaged and thoroughly enjoys using his free time to cook and try new cuisines with his fiancé. Another big passion of his is traveling, disconnecting from technology, and venturing into the great outdoors. In fact, he completed a 5-day, 42-mile backpacking trip along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan!
